Collinwood Monday 28th February.
A welcome day relaxing! Well apart from doing a load of washing in the camp laundry. Unfortunately I didn't notice that the outflow pipe wasn't in the sink and I managed to flood the floor, luckily the owner wasn't at all concerned and it soon dried out. Nigel moved the van to a prime spot right by the beach so all that was left for me to do was sit in the sun, read, walk along the beach and generally chill out. I made the effort to go into the town and buy a few supplies and post some cards. There is a small supermarket but it is very badly stocked and lots of the stuff was out of date, luckily we had plenty in the van to keep us going . Early in the evening we both walked up to the pub and had a beer and watched the locals. It must be a very insular place to live, so far from anywhere and quite a drive over the hills to get to anywhere of any size. Of course everyone seemed to know everyone else and we stood out like sore thumbs. Now that the school holidays are well over there don't seem to be many of us tourists around in this neck of the woods. Such a beautiful little town though and the camp site is one of the best and friendliest that we have stayed in.
